Alvardag: DesignByLauri

Lauri Ylönen, the singer of Rasmus rock band, has designed houses to Finnish celebrities with Alvardag Architects. Alvardag’s goal is always to bring something into the design. Houses are built with materials that respect the environment; raw surfaces can remain visible inside the houses and large windows let the natural light in. The streamlined shapes outline the design of the house, from large lines to small details. Siparila’s straight-shaped UTS panel, used on the facades, is ideal for vertical cladding and supports streamlined design. The siding of the facades is pre-painted which saves painting costs and speeds the building process. The topcoat of the panels protects the wood during the construction phase. This gives the wood an effective protection over the first winter and the final painting can be done in the spring. The nail heads that remain on the wooden surface should always be well protected to prevent moisture from damaging the wood.
