Janne Seilo has been appointed as the new CEO of Siparila and will start in his new position on 8 May 2025.Seilo brings valuable expertise and diverse management experience in the forest industry to support Siparila's international growth.
Seilo has extensive management experience in the forest industry, covering a wide range of business areas, from export sales to order-supply chain management, sawmill management and wood procurement. He has a long and successful career in UPM and Metsä Groups, where he has held senior management positions and been part of the management team. Mr Seilo holds a Master of Science in Agriculture and Forestry, MSc.
Seilo brings to Siparila leadership skills based on a listening, inclusive and people-oriented approach. His strength is in leading teams. Siparila has been a pioneer in developing a work culture that gives employees more power and responsibility. With Seilo's expertise, Siparila aims to work with its employees to develop ways of working that will ensure competitiveness in the future.
Siparila's growth story into the international company it is today is thanks to the innovation and perseverance of its founder, Juha Sojakas. The plight of the construction industry in Finland and across Europe has tested the company in recent years. The corrective measures to address this have now been taken. "In the last 12 months we have seen a recovery in the market and we have already achieved a clearly positive result for Siparila. It is good that the new Managing Director will continue this," says outgoing Managing Director Juha Sojakka. Sojakka will step down from the company's operational responsibilities, but will continue to play an important role on the boards of Siparila and its parent company Thermory.
Seilo's long career at the forefront of the wood products industry brings valuable experience to Siparila. "Seilo's understanding of the construction value chain strengthens Siparila's ability to meet our customers' needs," says Juha Sojakka, current CEO of Siparila. The aim is also to further strengthen our cooperation with Siparila's parent company, Thermory.
