A new home in the middle of nature

Imagine the perfect detached house—where exceptional design meets flawless execution, resulting in a home that truly exceeds your expectations. This vision became a reality through the collaboration of Siparila and Kajo Yhtiöt, transforming the residents' dream of a nature-surrounded abode into a stunning achievement. This architecturally elegant home integrates beautifully with its surroundings, offering a sanctuary where the beauty of nature is always at your doorstep.

Product samples played a crucial role in creating the perfect interior design

Constructing a dream home is fundamentally about thoughtful design; selecting suitable materials is essential. These materials should not only complement each other visually but also meet the specific needs of each space. During the design phase, the samples of interior panels played a pivotal role in guiding the material choices. "The samples allowed us to envision the overall aesthetic of our home right from the start, enabling us to finalize our selections confidently. They helped us understand how light interacts with various surfaces throughout the day. We were fortunate to have the expertise of the professionals at Kajo Yhtiöt by our side," said the residents.

Ready-painted, translucent LUCID exterior cladding sped up construction

Construction of the single-family home proceeded partly under winter conditions. For this reason, fully pre-painted Topcoat exterior cladding panels were chosen for the facade. The panels’ subtle resin tone elegantly reveals the wood grain, allowing the building to blend beautifully into the surrounding nature. The facade’s weather resistance is also top-notch, as the panel’s concealed UTW profile hides the fasteners beneath the next panel, preventing water from damaging the wood. Since the exterior cladding panels were fully pre-painted and the paint surface wasn’t damaged during installation, we can start yard work right away in the spring. There’s no longer any need to set up painting scaffolding around the house, which saves on costs.

Nature-inspired shades and materials indoors

The interior design of this single-family home focuses on a calm, nature-inspired look. For the home’s large ceiling surfaces, the homeowners chose 22-cm-wide Aava interior panels in a sand-colored shade, which create a cohesive and harmonious atmosphere. “We really fell in love with the shade of the Aava panel—it truly resembles a sandy beach and brings a cozy feel to the interior,” the residents describe. To complement the Aava interior panel, a textured Struktuuri panel in a pearl gray shade was chosen to create contrast with the house’s white and light brown tones. The light flooding in through the large windows transforms the look of the space as light and shadow play across the wooden surfaces.

KASKI panel in the sauna - naturalness and harmony

The goal was to recreate the atmosphere of an old log cabin in the sauna. Kaski sauna panels made of thermowood were chosen as the finishing material; their brushed surface and warm brown hue are reminiscent of the walls of an old log cabin. “The Kaski panels beautifully highlight the natural look of the wood. It’s absolutely perfect for a sauna, and the scent of thermowood is intoxicating,” the residents say happily. The sauna’s warm brown wood surfaces, combined with large gray tiles, create the perfect space for relaxation.
