The first PEFC-certified house in the Nordic Region

Mäihä is a 5-storey solid wood apartment building built by Lakea Oy in Seinäjoki, where wood is prominently displayed inside and out. Mäihä is built with Stora Enso's CLT spatial prefabricated solution and clad with Siparila's TOPCOAT® cladding.

The Mäihä solid wood apartment building is the first PEFC-certified house in the Nordic countries. The certificate guarantees that the wood used in the project comes from sustainably managed forests. At the same time, it guarantees that the entire supply chain and its actors are responsible in their business activities. The apartment building combines innovative and traditional wood construction, which is present outside, in the stairwells and in the apartments.

The dark bark on the façade is a striking sight on the Pruukinranta in Seinäjoki.
