Pre-painted smyth boards are suitable for finishing window sills. Smyth boards are carefully primed and painted once with topcoat on three sides. The dimensionally sawn smyth boards speed up installation and the specially shaped aluminium moulding allows the boards to be easily inserted. This prevents water and contaminants from entering the house structure.
The pre-painting on the boards protects the wood during the construction phase and gives the final result a finished look. A pre-painted board also consumes less paint and speeds up the painting process during the finishing phase of the construction project. Even problematic crooked windows can be given a tight finish with casing boards.
Aluminium strips should be purchased with the window boards to allow the window to fit easily into place without the need for separate sealants.
