Island cottage - STRUKTUURI sand

In a holiday home built on an island, nature has been incorporated into the design. The design was intended to emphasise elements of nature, both in form and tone - coniferous trees, grey stone. The aim was to create a spacious, clean-lined and sustainable holiday home. The façade is made of larch, which turns grey with age. The interior was designed to create a seamless continuum of beautiful nature, flooding in with bright light from the large windows in the living areas. Natural wood was chosen as the surface material, which is breathable and durable in use. The translucent sand tone of the textured panel created a warm and vibrant atmosphere. The rosy surface of the panels was intended to reflect the integrity of nature. A 176 mm wide Structural Panel was used for the walls and a narrower 85 mm Structural Panel for the ceiling. Particular attention was paid to the design of the kitchen, where the aim was to play with colour in a subtle way. Qubo Interior drew inspiration for the colour scheme from conifer needles, which were used to colour the cabinets. The green tone blends well with the sandy shade and brings a calm, woodland feel. The cabinets were fitted with draught-free doors to give the kitchen a sense of line and unity. Dekton was used for the kitchen worktops, which is highly resistant to wear and tear, changing temperatures and solar radiation.
