The VIRE panel, made of oak, captivates with its natural beauty
Bright and close to nature, Kannustalo’s Harmaja Saimaa is located right on the water’s edge, on a plot with its own private beach. Interior designer Susanna Vento has incorporated the hues of the surrounding nature into the clean-lined interior—gray tile floors and reddish-brown armchairs blend skillfully with the rock and the reddish-brown tones of the pine trunks.
The serene atmosphere of the house is accentuated by the high wall in the living room, which is adorned with an ash VIRE interior panel. The undulating surface, designed by Ristomatti Ratia, plays with light and shadow, allowing the beautiful surface and grain pattern of the ash to shine. The wood, used on large surfaces, also provides excellent acoustics for the high-ceilinged space. The surface of the ash panel has been accentuated with a white finish.
The VIRE interior panels serve as the unifying element of the interior design, elegantly tying the spaces together—the serene atmosphere of the living room extends to the headboard wall of the bedroom, as well as to the ash wood trim and ceiling panels. The white-stained wood surface captivates with its diversity and draws the eye to follow the lively variations in the grain pattern across the wood’s surface.
