A paint film can be compared to a goretex film on clothing, which slows down the absorption of moisture into the wood and, in dry, cold weather, slows down the transfer of moisture from the wood to the outside air. This prevents the risk of large, sudden changes in humidity causing cracks and deformation in the wood. SILVER
What? SILVER is a traditional exterior cladding panel that is fine-grained, primed and top-coated. The primer protects the wood from moulding and blue staining. The topcoat protects the wood from moisture during construction and speeds up the final painting on site. The house will have a presentable appearance already during the construction phase. The topcoat should be painted within 18 months of installation to ensure long-term durability.
For whom? SILVER exterior cladding is ideal for applications where you want to nail the panels from the top in the traditional way. SILVER is also well suited for the industrial production of house elements.
Treatment: the SILVER exterior cladding panel requires one more coat of paint after installation to repair any paint surface damaged during fixing. SILVER exterior cladding panels can be painted in the shades of the exterior colour charts. This allows you to see the suitability of the shade you have chosen for the façade during the construction phase and to deepen or lighten the shade during the final top coat. The industrially painted surface of the cladding panels will protect the façade during the construction phase, but the cladding must be painted within 18 months of installation. Painting is recommended between May and June.
Installation: the SILVER exterior cladding panels are traditionally fixed by nailing from the top of the panels. Nailing from the top will never produce as weatherproof a result as concealed fixing, as the nails will always break the paint film as they press into the surface of the wood. A top-fixed façade will not have quite the same durability as, for example, TOPCOAT® exterior cladding panels with concealed fastening. However, SILVER panels are a good and safe alternative for traditional construction. Please note that after installation, the work remains the painting of the façade and the costs of painting.
Durability: the durability of SILVER exterior cladding depends on the quality of the finish paint. Nail positions will start to show 3-5 years after installation. Nail heads collect moisture and water begins to accumulate at the nail. Concealed fixing of the panels is a viable solution for façade maintenance. The nail heads are not visible, which prolongs the durability and maintenance interval of the façade. The VAAJA exterior cladding is a good option if you want a pre-painted, nail-free façade.
HARD-WEARING CLADDING
What? KESTOtranslucents exterior cladding combines the audible naturalness of wood with a weather-resistant nail-free surface. HARD-STANDING exterior cladding panels have improved UV resistance of the audible shades compared to traditional audible shades, which have a maintenance interval of 3-5 years. Treatment: durable exterior cladding panels are industrially painted immediately after planing under controlled conditions, which ensures that the paint is absorbed into the wood cell. The panels are fully painted in the factory and do not need to be repainted after installation. The durable wood panels are available in a choice of 6 different shades.
Installation: durable exterior cladding panels are manufactured for concealed fixing of panel profiles. When installed, the nail marks are hidden under the following panels, improving the weather resistance and aesthetics of the façade. Durable exterior cladding is available in profiles suitable for both vertical and horizontal paneling.
DURABILITY: The paint film for the durable exterior cladding panel is guaranteed for 10 years. On the façade, fixing marks remain hidden and the paint film protecting the wood remains intact. The end points of the RESTURABLE panels are also pre-painted. Often on site, the panel ends are not painted, which exposes the wood to high humidity variations. This results in cracking of the end caps over time.
TOPCOAT®
What? Siparila TOPCOAT® is a pre-painted and concealed cladding panel. Fully pre-painted cladding speeds up construction, especially in winter, as it does not need to be painted separately after installation. Thanks to the concealed nailing of the panels, the only step in the construction process is the installation. The TOPCOAT® cladding panel also saves costs, as no separate painting is required and the panels can be seamlessly extended by means of end joints. TOPCOAT® panels are particularly suitable for on-site paneling.
For whom? TOPCOAT® is ideal as a façade material for both brick-fronted houses and new buildings. The panel is also widely used for cladding the facades of apartment buildings, avoiding the need for panel seams and creating a unique wooden surface. TOPCOAT® cladding panel is an option for those who appreciate ease and speed. A nail-free, pre-painted wood surface ensures a worry-free, weather-resistant façade for years to come.
Treatment: all surfaces of Siparila TOPCOAT® exterior cladding panels have a protective wood film, including the back of the panel and the end panels. The surface treatment of the panels is guaranteed for 10 years. A thick topcoat provides the wood with effective protection against the sun's UV rays and moisture stress. TOPCOAT® panels are also available with fire protection and have been granted utility model protection.
Installation: TOPCOAT® panels are fixed from the top of the panel to the grid. The female spot of the next panel covers the fixing marks made during installation. The first row of panels is fixed with starter hooks, leaving the façade completely nail-free on the outside. As TOPCOAT® cladding panels are fully pre-painted, they can be installed all year round.
Durability: TOPCOAT® panels have better weather resistance than normal exterior cladding panels, thanks to a concealed fixing and a thick paint film. Water cannot damage the wood at the nailing points and the paint film protects the wood from the abrasive effects of UV radiation.

All exterior cladding panels can have a fire retardant treatment added underneath the traditional surface treatment. Fire protection protects the wood in the event of a fire and slows down the progress of the fire.
